Flashes of hair, the flailing suit and boisterous goading. Head bobbing, incessant hands clapping – fully extended to the performers. Then suddenly one arm under the other and complete immersion into the performance taking place on stage. Repeat.
Since his departure, a few people have brought this up. It’s a song I wrote and recorded awhile back when I first became enamored with Billy. It is a tribute to colorful people and their lifestyles and name checks the legendary and now sadly departed man himself. Originally performed live under the name Astroboy (whom Billy said sounded like The Wedding Present time and time again), this track never saw an official release. “Katsirouba” refers to a Boston fruit distribution company, Katsiroubas Bros.
Rest in Peace Billy. You are set free.
